The winner of the New Year’s Stoloto lottery will receive 1 billion rubles net of personal income tax

The winner, who won 1 billion rubles in the Stoloto New Year’s lottery in Moscow, will receive 13% less income tax, RIA Novosti reports on Wednesday, January 1, citing the lottery’s press service.

“The income tax on the amount will be 13%. And he does not need to worry, the amount will immediately come after deduction of tax, ”the organizers of the draw said.

To get the win, the winner needs to contact the Stoloto lottery center, where they will draw up all the necessary documents. Since the winning amount exceeds 10 million rubles, the ticket authentication procedure will take 40 days, and the winner will receive all the winnings within six months.

Also, representatives of the lottery added that the money will be transferred to the account, which the winner will indicate.

Earlier on January 1, it became known that a resident of Moscow won 1 billion rubles in the New Year drawing of the Russian Lotto lottery. In total 53 614 853 tickets participated in the drawing, the winning one was bought in Moscow. This gain was the highest ever in the history of Russian state lotteries.
